Meet our Pastor
Hello Brunswick County! It took a while, but this NC mountain boy found his way to the NC coast. I am excited about the ministry opportunities here at Brunswick Islands Baptist. Whether you are in the area permanently, or just passing through, I invite you to come worship and grow with us. Having arrived just this last year, my family is still learning about life on the beautiful NC coast.
My physical and spiritual journey began in Flat Rock, NC (near Hendersonville), and I am grateful for all those who invested in my life growing up. Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC, would be my college destination, and it was there that I heard God’s call while active in various ministry opportunities. After graduation, I attended Gardner-Webb Divinity School, while also serving as Minister to Students at my home church, East Flat Rock First Baptist. From there my ministry journey has taken me to Lyman, SC, King, NC, back to Boiling Springs, and now to Supply, NC. I have completed all the coursework for my Doctor of Ministry degree from GWU and plan to complete the ministry project soon.
I am blessed to have been married to Renee for 21 years, and together we are raising our teenage son, Aiden, whom we are very proud of.
In my free time, I enjoy being outside with my family in the woods or near the water. I also enjoy reading, hiking, kayaking, golfing, snow skiing, music, Gardner-Webb and ACC basketball, and playing chess and video games with Aiden.
My passions as a pastor are to communicate God’s amazing love and grace to all while helping each one connect to an area of ministry where they find joy and can be a blessing to others.
He has told you, O mortal, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30-31
